If you want individual care for your child, you can go to childminders ir in-home childcare providers.
Childminders
A childminder is a childcare professional approved by the department to care for children under 6 years old, generally in their own home or in a childminder’s home.
The childcare provider’s salary may be partially covered by the Free Choice of Childcare Supplement (CMG). Early childhood support services can assist you in finding and hiring a childminder.
In-home childcare providers
The in-home childcare provider can be hired by an approved personal care provider (with whom the parents sign a contract) or hired directly by the parent employer.
This solution can also be partially funded through the Free Choice of Childcare Supplement (CMG). Early childhood support services can assist you in finding and hiring in-home childcare.
If you want collective care for your child, you can go to a nursery, a micro-nursery or kindergarten.
Micro-nursery
Micro-nurseries are childcare facilities for children between the ages of 2.5 months and 3 years. They only accept 10 children, who are grouped together in a single section, regardless of their age. The goal is to provide a more family-like and personalised care experience. Most micro-nurseries are eligible for the Free Choice of Childcare Supplement (CMG).
Nurseries welcome children from 10 weeks of age. They are cared for by early childhood professionals. The facilities develop a pedagogical and educational plan. Parents have a contract with the facility. The contract can be regular (fixed hours and days of care), irregular (rotating schedule), or occasional (depending on the facility’s availability).
Kindergarten
Kindergartens are collective structures which welcome children from the age of 2.
