L’AEEH is for children under 20 years old who are recognised as having a disability by the CDAPH (Departmental Commission for the Rights and Autonomy of Disabled People)
The aid includes a basic, monthly amount (135,13€) and can be increased depending on the level of disabilty and the compensation needs. The duration may vary depending on your child’s health and the level of disability:
For the duration of the payment:
Disability rate | Child’s health | Duration of the payement |
Between 50 %-79 % | Child being in a specialized establishment or if his state requires the use of adapted care by the CDAPH | Two to five years |
Equal to or greater than 80 % | With improvement prospects | Three to five years |
Equal to or greater than 80 % | Stable or worsening | Without limitation |
The PCH helps cover the costs due to loss of autonomy in your daily life (human assistance, specific equipment, adaptation of housing or vehicle, transport, service animal, other specific or exceptional expenses linked to the disability). It concerns both children and adults living with a disability. It can be cumulacombined with the AEEH under certain conditions.
The AJPP is paid when a parent temporarily stops or reduces their professional activity to care for a child under 20 years old who is also either seriously ill, disabled or had an accident. It cannot be combined with daily allowances, a retirement pension, a disability pension or with the AAH (Allowance for Disabled Adults). It is granted for a period of 6 to 12 months, renewable up to a maximum of 3 years and 310 days per child and per condition. A new right of 310 days may be opened in the event of a new pathology.
The amount paid corresponds to the number of days of absence taken as parental leave, up to a limit of twenty-two days per month.
